2013 Tour Overview

Bike Virginia 2013 Tour planning is well underway and we’re excited to share lots of information with you as we finalize the details.

General Information

Our tour is a “giant loop”. We start in town A where we spend a couple of days, and move to town B where we stay for a couple of more days, the finish back in town A on the last day.

 

Accommodations

Camping is included in your registration. You’ll love being around camp, all the cool things happen there! We offer some advanced camping options through Ted Mayberry’s Sherpa Service and Cycling Logistics. If you need gear, want special accommodations, etc… these companies can help.

Routes

Six days of riding are offered for the 2013 Tour, beginning on Friday afternoon with our prologue ride. Each day the routes vary in length and level of challenge. You will generally have 2 route choices on riding days. Every route has a difficulty rating from 1-10 determined by climbing and distance. Riders of all abilities and ages enjoy participating in the tour. Routes average 40-50 miles per day which can be ridden at a leisurely pace. We choose our bike routes based on beauty, history, interesting geography, and your riding safety.

Food

All new for this year we will include 15 catered meals with a full tour registration! Our tour also includes rest stops packed with food and drink approximately every 15-20 miles. Food vendors will be available around camp too.  This year we will also offer a Premium Rest Stop each day featuring an extra special culinary treat, something you’ll be sure to love.
