For 2016 our event services will offer you a fun, complete vacation package! Our registration cap is 1,750 so be sure to save your spot soon. Look for our 29th tour to be filled with camaraderie, historic sites, relaxation, and adventure! We’ve listened to your input and created something you’re sure to love.

3-DAY WEEKEND

  • 3 days of riding with up to 200 miles on hand-selected bike routes that capture the beauty, history, and geography of Virginia. Most days include several different options. Routes vary in climbing and length.
  • Tour starts and ends at HQ1 in Woodstock, VA
  • SIGNATURE Marked routes, using up to 200 signs per day. No cue sheets or GPS needed. Eye level, brightly colored direction signs are easy to see and follow.
  • Up to 10 comfort station “rest stops” (every 20–25 miles) found in interesting places on the way.
  • FAVORITE One premium stop each day.
  • Support and gear (SAG) trucks offering assistance for emergencies during riding hours.
  • On-course marshals to encourage safe riding.
  • Guide book for ride details at your fingertips.
  • GPS route files available for download.
  • Mobile phone app with event schedule, social connections, and route information.
  • On-line safety briefing video that you watch before you arrive.

Registration is open for the June 24–29, 2016 Bike Virginia Tour “Pilgrimage”. The Shenandoah Valley from Woodstock to Harrisonburg offers great riding, beautiful scenery, warm hospitality, and easy access.

Most of what you loved from the revolutionary 2015 tour returns for 2016, including the rider favorite Food Truck Fiesta! and our Double Vision format that gives you access to your car the entire time!

With a staff of just five, we rely on hundreds of volunteers to make the tour run smoothly. Read about our available positions in this blog post and how you can help make this year a success!

Registration for the 2016 event will open on November 15th, 2015!  You’ll be sure to appreciate how streamlined and simplified the registration process is again this year.  We looked over everything with a magnifying glass to make it the best it could be, along with everything else you’ve come to expect from Bike Virginia.

Find the three large buttons near the top of the page, and click on the package that works best for your schedule:

  • 6-Day Tour (Friday through Wednesday) JUNE 24–29
  • 3-Day Weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) JUNE 24–26
  • 3-Day Weekday (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) JUNE 27–29

If you can only join us for a single day, don’t worry — we still have you covered!  Walk-In registrations will also be offered on-site during the event.

Note: Children under the age of 12 will now be registered on the same form as their parent/guardian — no extra paperwork!  Teenagers (ages 12–18) will complete their own registration form, the same as adults.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requests made in writing (email) to Samer Meshreki, on or before March 31, 2016, will be refunded minus a processing fee per registration. See table below.

3-DAY WEEKEND PROCESSING FEE

Cancellation requests will not be honored for any reason, including medical, after March 31, 2016.  There will be NO exceptions. If you must cancel, you may substitute another rider by transferring your registration.

We highly recommend that you protect your purchase with an inexpensive Travel Protection Plan. For a small investment you can have peace of mind. In some instances a trip that is cancelled can qualify for insurance reimbursement. You can purchase insurance on your own or from any travel agent.

Transfer Policy

Registrations can be transferred from one rider to another.  For instructions on how to transfer your registration, please contact Samer Meshreki. The new rider will incur a transfer fee of less than $10/day (6-DAY $59, 3-DAY $29)

Youth/Children

The Bike Virginia Tour can be a fun family event. Please read closely the information below on our policies and suggestions.

  • Everyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have the consent of a parent or guardian to participate in Bike Virginia.
  • All youth under the age of 16 must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.
  • All children under the age of 12 must ride on a tandem, trailer bike or in a trailer. Children under the age of 12 cannot ride a single bike.

The bike tour can be strenuous on young children even when riding in a cart or on an adult’s bike. High temperatures, sun exposure and long periods on the bike can be difficult and even dangerous for children. Please consider carefully your child’s limitations and what is best for your family’s health and enjoyment.

SAG (support vans) do not carry child safety seats and may not be able to accommodate children. It is best to provide your own SAG support for young children on the tour.

  • Four (4) people decide to register as a TEAM for the full 6-DAY TOUR
  • One (1) person is the MANAGER who collects funds from the team
  • The manager goes to our online store and purchases a team PASSPORT
  • PASSPORT is a unique registration CODE that can be used exactly four (4) times
  • We email the PASSPORT to the MANAGER who distributes it amongst the team
  • Each member registers individually and uses their team’s unique PASSPORT code to waive the 6-DAY TOUR fee

The team PASSPORT is a great way to obtain a significant discount over our individual 6-DAY registration prices!  And if you order one before December January 31st, that comes out to less than $75 $84 per person per day!

However, we only have a limited quantity of passports available for purchase… first come, first served. So get your team PASSPORT before they’re all gone!

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE PROGRAM THERE ARE [highlight text_color=”” background_color=””]NO REFUNDS[/highlight] ON A TEAM PASSPORT AT ANY TIME AND FOR ANY REASON. This is a departure from our normal registration policy, where individual (non-team) registrations completed prior to a certain date can be cancelled and refunded minus a service fee. TEAM MANAGER ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PASSPORT. Don’t lose it or share it with anyone not on the team. TEAM PASSPORT MUST BE REDEEMED BEFORE ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSESAfter purchasing a passport, each team member can register at their leisure, but please be mindful of deadlines for any other promotions (i.e. complimentary jersey) and the end of online registration (May 31st 2016). EACH TEAM NEEDS THEIR OWN PASSPORT.   • DONATION LEVEL TWO ($300) — VIP PARKING.  Up to 6 days of Reserved Parking at event headquarters.  Less walking, more riding… we put you as close to the action as possible!  (Limited quantity available)
You can bring your recreational vehicle (RV) to Bike Virginia!
  • Registration is required (select the option on your registration form)
  • Fee is $59 (for a 6-DAY registration that’s less than $10/day)
At Woodstock (HQ1), there will be parking close by for all RV‘s but no hookups (water or electric).
At Rockingham (HQ2), there will be plenty of parking for RV‘s in the Campgrounds area and hookups are available (water and electric).
[highlight text_color=”” background_color=””]NOTE[/highlight] Parking at HQ2 only covers Monday and Tuesday nights — we do not have permission to stay Wednesday evening.  Event ends at 5pm.  Please plan accordingly.
