Peggy has served on the board for 2 years, and was honored to be selected as the next board leader. She is well versed in business and non-profits, as Peggy is the full time Executive Director of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce and operates the regional Visitor Center.

Bike Virginia visited the New River Valley in 2011, and Peggy had her first exposure to the organization at that time as she helped make planning preparations for the annual bike tour.  She became a board member shortly thereafter because she saw the impact the event has on communities, and the potential for making very important and lasting change to Virginia through bicycling initiatives.

When asked about her passion for the organization Peggy said,  “I love working with Dr. Kim Perry, and working with Bike VA when they were in the NRV was such a great experience I jumped at the opportunity to work with this organization again as a member of the board! I love the vision created by the leaders, and your focus this year to include women to achieve their cycling goals, as I know that this is a national trend. I want to be a part of making the Bike Virginia organization the biking hub for all the biking adventures offered in the state which is very doable with the new website project the organization is developing.  I’m looking forward to being a part of the upcoming fall ride in 2015 that will bring a new upscale experience to riders looking for something unique.  I personally want to be a part of a progressive organization that brings awareness to exercise, healthy lifestyles, showcases the beauty of all the different regions in VA and has fun doing it!”

Please join us in a welcome to Peggy at the “Three Sweet Feet” Ice-Cream Social at Bike Virginia. Together we will celebrate her new role and celebrate the passing of Virginia’s three foot passing law that will help ensure cyclists more road safety.
