Entertainment and Activity Schedule- Bike Virginia Tour

There are lots of fun and interesting things to do in addition to cycling at the Bike Virginia Tour. That’s what makes the complete vacation experience. You and your friends can enjoy water activities, sightseeing, food and drink, and exploration easily through our schedule of activities.

Please note that the schedule is still under development and this is a draft. Stay tuned for changes and new things as we approach the event.

Bike Virginia Tour Entertainment Options

Friday June 20

Start your Friday off with a visit to our on-site vendors for all your bike needs. After your ride, enjoy our on site beer and wine garden from 5-9pm, live music from 6-8pm, our “Route Rap” information session at 6pm, and visiting our vendors from 10am to 8pm. For a convenient on-site dinner from 5:30-8:30pm at event Headquarters consider buying our dinner plan.

5:00pm-9:00pm Beer & Wine Garden

6:00pm Kick-off Route Rap Announcements & Staff Welcome Comments

6:30pm-8:30pm Live music at HQ

 

Saturday

On Saturday after riding or instead of riding you can enjoy swimming from 10am to 7pm. Take a free shuttle to Carytown shopping and dining district from 1-10pm. If you’re a water lover then take a Stand Up Paddle board adventure at off-site venues at 1,2,3, or 6:30pm (Details on registration here….) or take a nice boat tour on a scenic waterway at 1pm or 3pm (details here…). Pocohantos State Park also offers boat rentals and fishing all day so you can enjoy these at your leisure. If you stick around camp then consider having an adult beverage at the beer and wine garden from 5-9pm, catch up on ride information at the Route Rap at 6:00pm, and Listen to live music at HQ from 6pm-8pm.

10:00am-7:00pm Swimming at the park pool (fee applies)

12:00pm-to TBD Free shuttle to Henricus Historic Park, various activities available. Details here…

12:00pm-10:00pm Sightseeing Shuttles depart for Carytown (dining, shopping, exploring)

1pm and 3pm- Wildlife Boat Tours- Henricus Park/Dutch Gap Location- two hour boat tour, reservations and fee required, details here…

1:15- Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga class with orientation at Henricus Park/Dutch Gap Location reservations and fee required, details here…

2pm-5pm- Stand up Paddleboard Rental at Henricus Park/Dutch Gap Location reservations and fee required, details here…

Sunday

On Sunday strike out to downtown Richmond on a free shuttle from 1pm-10pm or hop on board a guided trolley tour at 5:45 or 6:45 (registration details here….).  If you prefer low key entertainment then stop by the beer and wine garden from 5-9pm, catch up on ride information at the Route Rap at 6:00pm, and Listen to live music at HQ from 6pm-8pm.

12:00pm-10:00pm Free sightseeing shuttles  to Downtown Richmond

Monday

On Monday we relocate to our second host community so there’s lots of new things to explore.  Take a free shuttle to Colonial Williamsburg for sight-seeing, shopping, or dining. If you enjoy the water then consider swimming at Headquarters from 10 to 6, renting a boat, or enjoying a bit of fishing. Visit with new friends at the beer and wine garden from 5-9pm, enjoy an ice-cream social and hear a presentation about the state of cycling in Virginia sponsored by Road Holland, catch up on ride information at the Route Rap at 6:45pm, then spend some time relaxing to live music at HQ from 7:00pm-9pm.

10am-6pm Swimming at the park pool (no fee)

12:00pm Sightseeing shuttles depart for Colonial Williamsburg (dining, shopping, historic venue).

6:00pm Daily Route Rap (Tomorrow’s Information Update)

5:00pm-9:00pm Beer & Wine Garden

5:30pm-6:45pm State of Cycling in Virginia Presentation and Ice-Cream Social.

7:00pm-9:00pm Live music

 

Tuesday

On Tuesday make a splash to cool off in the Chickahominy Riverfront pool from 10 to 6. Or paddle a boat and explore the river (rental boats available at the park). If you’re in the mood to take in some history take a free shuttle to Colonial Williamsburg for sight-seeing, shopping, or dining. If you’re in the mood to stay around camp then you can enjoy the beer and wine garden from 5-9pm, catch up on ride information at the Route Rap at 6:oopm, then spend some time relaxing to live music at HQ from 6:00pm-8pm.

10am-6pm Swimming at the park pool (no fee)

12:00pm Sightseeing shuttles to Colonial Williamsburg

5:00pm-9:00pm Beer & Wine Garden

Below is what a Typical Day in the Life of a Bike Virginia Cyclist is like…

5:30 – 8:30 am BREAKFAST served for pre-purchased meal participants at Headquarters. Bike repair service opens.

5:30 – 9:30 am – Shuttle service begins between Headquarters and hotels.

6:00 – 8:30 am – Luggage loaded onto truck (on move day).

6:00 – 9:00 am – Hospitality Center open.

7:00 am Route officially opens for the day. Please do not start before this time.

7:30 am First rest stop opens.

9:30 am – 4:30 pm LUNCH is served at Headquarters. Bike repair service available.

12:00 pm Luggage arrives at next Headquarters’ location (on move day).

12:00- 6:00 pm Hospitality Center open. This is where you’ll find:

  • all your questions answered
  • lost and found
  • bulletin board for communication
  • schedules for afternoon activities
  • dinner and entertainment options
  • information about the town
  • where best to shop

12:00 pm Shuttle service begins between Headquarters, hotels, and sightseeing opportunities.

1:00 – 10:00 pm Massage available at Headquarters.

1:00 – 6:00 pm Special activities – museums, tubing/kayaking, shopping, etc.

3:00 – 6:00 pm Bike repair service available at Headquarters.

5:00 pm Route closes for the day. We will pick you up if you are still on the route at this time. All route support will end.

5:30 – 8:30 pm DINNER served for pre-purchased meal participants at Headquarters or dine on vendor row.

5:00 – 9:00 pm Entertainment options.

10:00 pm Quiet hours begin at Headquarters.

10:00 pm Shuttle Service stops.
