Equipment

Bike Selection

You are responsible for bringing your own bicycle to the tour in good condition. A multi-speed sport or touring bicycle with a wide gear range is recommended. A triple chain ring would be best. A touring, cross or mountain bicycle would also be appropriate. If you bring your mountain bike, you might want to change your knobby tires to inverted tread tires.

Touring Bike Rental

Bob Leftwich with Bike Stop, our official Bike Tech, has rental bikes for our participants. Limited supply – don’t delay – call now! 540-825-2105

Make sure you tell them you are a Bike Virginia participant!

Bikes for the World

Bike Virginia is proud to partner with Bikes for the World. BFW is the lower mid-Atlantic region’s non-profit organization whose mission is to send bikes to developing countries where they can transform lives. Have a bike and/or parts no longer in use? Bring them to the Bikes for the World collection site at Bike Virginia. Help us help others!
