Take a DeTour from everyday life! Bike Virginia offers the PERFECT long weekend escape. Ride, ride ride, camp, hear great music, play on the river, drink beer! It’s an ideal way to leave behind the every day and enjoy beautiful scenery, fun people, and the joy of riding a bicycle.
Weekend Escape: June 21, 22, 23 – 2013
Come for a day or more. We’ve got a full selection of registration options. Riding begins on Friday June 21 with a great 30 mile route along the Maury River. Saturday offer 21, 35, and 64 mile routes that visit some of the region’s prettiest areas. Sunday’s riding offers an option to fit everyone from 20 miles to 34 to 63, to our Great BIG 104 mile century with 9,000 feet of climbing. The fee for rider registration for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is $230 for the lunch only option, $270 for the “all meals option”, it includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday and Sunday in addition to the already included Friday dinner. Learn more about registration here…
With a weekend registration you’ll get:
- Hand marked routes that use posted signage so it’s easy to follow along
- Friday Welcome Party Dinner- A Mexican Feast
- Lunch Saturday, Sunday (Additional dinners and breakfasts are available in our meal plan).
- Camping Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Fully stocked rest stops with food and beverages
- SAG truck support

Where is the Ride?
The tour moves around to a new place in Virginia each year, this year our Weekend Escape is in the Lexington/Buena Vista Virginia region. Riding and camping are based at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista. 
There’s More than a Weekend Bike Ride!
The fun doesn’t stop on Sunday. If you want to get away for more than a weekend, then we’ve got your medicine. The Tour is 6 days in total. Hit the road with us on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as well. Each day we offer breathtaking routes and tons of off the bike activities.
