It was a LONG, COLD winter. No doubt about it. A lot of us are just getting on the bike for “spring riding” even though it is almost May. And mother nature keeps handing out those chilly nights and damp weather. That might have you thinking that tackling Bike Virginia’s Weekend Escape or 6 day bike event is out of the question.
Think again!
We have very good news, Our planning team has made sure to include lots of bike route options so you can have an enjoyable ride no matter how little or how much you have trained.
For example, on Saturday June 27, you can choose from loop bike routes of 19 miles, 40 miles, 70, miles, 73 miles, and 103 miles (century). The 2015 location in Abingdon and Kingsport will give you a wonderful ride, lots of scenery, history, rural roads, and friendly people. Get a sneak-peak at the beautiful scenic bike routes on our blog.
At Bike Virginia’s tour, you get to ride at your own pace over the 8 hours that the routes are open, so there’s no need to go fast! This is not a race, it’s an exploration adventure!
As a matter of fact, there are a lot of great reasons to ride the tour including you can actually use Bike Virginia as a training tool to get you geared up for the rest of the riding season.
All of our bike routes are supported, meaning that you will have food, drink at designated intervals, and truck support should anything go awry.
