Ride the River means water sports and fun! Our two camps on Bike Virginia this year will have easy access to water activities. At Bisset Park you’ll camp right on the banks of the New River. Take a tube or kayak and float your cares away in the cool waters or spend a day or afternoon learning to paddle board. Tangent Outfitters will provide a free shuttle from the Bike Virginia campground to all of their activities, with rentals on site. If you’d rather fish than float, the New River provides a great opportunity for that as well. The waters of this river, second oldest in the world, give anglers and paddlers world-class excitement. Arrange your fly fishing or fishing excursion through the Tangent Outfitters website.
Our second camp at Claytor Lake brings even more opportunities for water enjoyment. Claytor Lake Water Sports is located right by our camp ground and you’ll be able to just walk on over and do something that floats your boat – literally! Canoe, kayak, tube, windsurf, or hop aboard a party barge for an evening sunset cruise.
**FUN FACT: Claytor Lake was created in 1939 with the construction of the Claytor Dam on the New River.
