The Road Air compact bike pump review was made possible by Road Air. They provided two pumps Bike Virginia for review, we have no affiliation with the company.
After a few uses of the pumps we found that the Road Air pump delivered just what we wanted in a compact pump design, convenient size, easy use, and lots of pressure. The pump pushes plenty of air even though it is a slim and compact.
The manufacturer has built in several convenient features including:
- Flexible inflation tubing, allowing you to reach challenging angles.
- Tool-keeper compartment with inflation tools of different kinds.
- Frame mounting bracket with bungee.
We loved the size of this compact bike pump and clever use of a flexible inflation connection tube. We also really liked the hidden tool compartment in the handle and of the pump. It’s great to have options for inflating various tire types as well as fitness balls and other things that require a cone shaped or needle inflation connection.
Things we didn’t love: There wasn’t much to complain about. The adapter compartment is hard to open for Kim, but not her husband. We acknowledge that it is understandable to have a tight fit on the compartment door so it does not pop open while riding. Initially we didn’t realize the inflation hose was neatly slid down inside the pump so reading the instructions is very helpful.
All in all, the Road Air pump will make a great addition to our organization’s events. It could be provided to SAG truck drivers, and will not take up too much space in vehicles that offer support on the routes. We can also provide this pump to our riding ambassadors who assist participants during our bike events. We can put this pump to good use at Bike Virginia’s 2016 event to help keep everyone rolling.
